As I sit here writing this post I am looking out my window to the Vancouver North Shore mountains and seeing a clean dusting of fresh snow. I knew this must have been coming as this last week I have been FREEZING my butt off in my little laneway home.
The front of our landlords house is covered in big beautiful purple lavender bushes. Every time I walk past them I drag my hands through them and then proceed to give my hands a big sniff. I LOVE the scent of lavender.
Not really words you would expect to hear come from the mouths of a young couple. We honestly do love it though! We take out all the seats in the back of our van and create a comfortable bed with lots of blankets and pillows. You could say its a form of glamping.
These last couple weeks in Vancouver we have been having a MAJOR heat wave. I can't complain as I love the heat and wait for this time of year during the rest of the year. But, man it is hot! Especially in our tiny little laneway house. It is pretty much an easy bake oven right now.
Lindeman Lake is a small glacier lake in Chilliwack, BC. It has become a popular day hiking spot due to the fact its only 1.7km to reach the lake from the parking lot, making it a short hike in. We decided to head out on July 1st, Canada Day. Knowing that we may be in for a busy hike, we left early in the am.
We have been having some crazy unusually hot weather lately here on the west coast. While it worries me in one sense from an environmental stand, I can't help but try and soak up as much of it as I can.
