Over the years I have gained a real appreciation for GOOD natural beauty and body products. Sometimes they are hard to come by.. Especially in the make-up department. Similar to how I eat, I like to keep what I put on my body pretty darn clean and free from harsh chemicals. If you are ever wondering about about the general safety of the products you are using, the Environmental Working Group has a great website with a TON of info on thousands of products. The beauty industry is much less regulated than the Food and Drug industry, so it doesn't hurt to educate yourself. Their website can be found here.
I have compiled a list of 5 of my favourite beauty/body staples that I use on a regular basis. Here they are!
I am a lip balmaholic. I always have at least 3 different types in my bag at all times. This particular lip balm I have found myself purchasing over and over again. I think its a testament to how awesome it is. I am also a sucker for anything coconut flavoured.
HURRAW has many different flavours ranging from Earl Grey to Root Beer to Vanilla Bean. My personal favourite is the coconut by far.
Their lip balm is all natural, vegan and made from raw, organic fair trade ingredients. Score!
Ahhh nail polish. We have a hate/love relationship. I love the meditative effect that I get when painting my nails, and it is always fun to mix in some colour. However, I HATE how full of chemicals most nail polish is! I will admit I use companies like Essie and OPI, but I always feel a little guilty as I breathe in the toxic stench. I have tried natural nail polishes in the past, but never really found one I thought was that good of quality. That was until I found out Pacifica made nail polishes too!
They have SO many cute colours (check them out here)! They have great packaging (once again). But, the best part is what is actually in the nail polish, or should I say what is not in it.
Pacifica makes all their nail polishes free of:
- Formaldehyde resins
- Animal by products
Their nail polishes are all certified vegan and cruelty free. Yay animals!
Dr. Bronner's will always be my go-to soap. I personally love using it as a shower wash. The bottle claims there are 18-in-1 uses! It can be used for everything from soap and shaving to teeth brushing and dishes. The peppermint in it gives it a nice fresh scent and makes you tingly (literally) clean!
Dr. Bronner's makes their soaps purely out of organic oils. No gross stuff in here!

Pacifica really knows how to market their products. I mean, honestly this packaging was what sold me the first time. So beachy and so cute.
I have tried many a facial cleansing wipes, both natural and non-natural. Honestly, I always come back to these ones.
They smell AMAZING and leave my face soft and clean without feeling dry or sticky like I have found other ones make me feel.
They have a light coconut scent as well. Mmmmm.
Extra bonus they are momma earth friendly!
- sulfate free
- paraben free
These are perfect to bring with you when you're traveling or for those dirty and dusty music festival campgrounds!
Now this stuff is seriously the bomb.
I am not one to wear a ton of make up. I like to stick to my black mascara, and if I am feeling wild a bit of tinted moisturizer. That was until I discovered this gem who has now joined my everyday routine. Pacifica calls it an "under eye brightener". It is definitely lighter coverage than a concealer, but I personally like it way more. It has a bit of sheen to it, so it really does light up your under eyes. I love how awake and fresh this makes me look, even when I am a stressed out exhausted monkey.
Now here comes the fun part...
